How will my player be made aware of tryouts?
The BHS coaching staff and the sidekicks will host a parent meeting in the spring of 2022. This meeting will include information relating to coaches, optional open fields, mandatory open fields and season expectations. This meeting will be announced through this website as soon as it is known.
Is my child academically ineligible?
Per the OHSAA guidelines, players are ineligible if they have failed more than one (1) core class in the most recent academic grading period (quarter) prior to the official tryout. For soccer, this translates to no more than one (1) failed core class in the 4th quarter.
How much should I expect to pay in player fees?
Due to the upcoming school levy on the May ballot, the school pay-to-participation fees have not yet been determined. With a passing levy, we anticipate the fees to remain $250/player while a failing levy could likely result in fees to $600/player. Pay-to-participate fees are payable online through your child's account or through the Athletic office. These fees are due after the players have been assigned to a team and before the first game.
The Sidekicks have player fees of $40, a fundraiser which includes a $40 buy-out option and your optional Beavercreek Boosters fees. The Boosters amount is dependent on your preference, however in order for your player to qualify for a scholarship, your family must have been a member of the Boosters for all four high school years.
What "extras" will I be responsible for?
You will be responsible for your player's cleats, shin guards and goalie gloves (if he/she is a goalie). In addition, we have a mandatory basket raffle fundraiser that requires the donation of an item that would apply to your team's basket assignment. Your team parent may organize team meals before games or after certain practices, in which you may be asked to donate money and/or food. All home and away games charge an admission fee, which is $5 for games that do not include Varsity in the day lineup, or $7 for games that include Varsity.
